Justin Cox is a lifelong skateboarder, dedicated Muay Thai participant, trainer and coach. This week, Justin and I sit down for an in-person conversation about his wild life so far. Justin shares openly about his early days growing up in western Sydney, finding his love for skateboarding in the 80s, searching out backyard pools, Muay Thai fights, losing his way with heroin addiction and participation in criminal activity to support his habit, serving time, getting clean in jail, how skateboarding gave him hope, his deep love and appreciation for the art of Muay Thai, finding fulfilment in teaching and training others, his faith, Sydney skate scene history, the mentorship he found in John Finlay, Fairfield days, the three-headed snake, and much much more. Justin's story is compelling to say the least, and a powerful reminder that adversity can always be overcome by maintaining hope, and working hard to improve yourself.
